I Get Around

Nacksta is quite empty now. Wednesday was goodbye meeting in Liquid bar, Thursday GoodBye-Party at 20b, Friday GoodBye Party at 16e and Saturday last Kårhuset.
But my week did not only consist of parties. On Thursday I sent in my article and hoped for being done with it. The surprise came today: the article is crap. I am not really surprised that it is not good, since it is my first one. But I thought it would be at least enough for passing. It probably is, but they want an awesome piece of work if I want to stay PhD candidate. I have time until 30th of June. Good thing I did not start with the paper they gave me before (a few of you know the Bangkok story). For sure I would have screwed it up in my naive style of writing. At least, I know what I have to do during my last three weeks of Sweden before I'll go home for vacations. "Luckily" I did not plan any trips during that time :(
Vacations is a good topic. Since the weather is so great in Sweden, I took some sunbaths during the past days. My skin is more a mixture of red and bright brown. Friday I have been in the city the whole day and in the afternoon we walked to the Sidsjön for swimming. It was not really cold. Saturday we drove to Alnö by bus. At Vi we had to wait one hour for the next bus to the beach called Tranviken. From there the next bus left at 6pm. But I was lucky for getting seat in the car of Julia's friends who was accidently at the same beach. The time at the beach was cosy. When you came out of the water, you felt very cold because of the wind, but all in all it was nice.
Because I got back by car I was home at 6pm, able to rest a little bit and go to Norrmalms' preparty. It was my second visit there since December last year when I waited for my bus after midnight to get to Stockholm. After having eaten awesome pizza we went it Kåren. It was the last party before the summer. It was not as big as the party before the winter last year, but anyway the best they had this semester.

I will survive

Wow. I did it! I survived surströmming! At least it tastes better than it smells, but that's not difficult. I don't need that taste again in my life. Bäh.... But from the beginning: they day started with practicing for the surströmming-party. My group trained a pantomimic performance. Every group had to present their results from their surströmming-investigation. The first group presented a Talk-Show, the second was my own group, the third had a very funny surströming-commercial performance, the fourth has covered the beautiful song " Vem vet " (engl.: Who knows) to " Vem äter " (engl.: Who eats) and the last made a TV-Show. It was a great fun. After the introduction we were seperated into groups again to prepare the party. I decided to help the entertainmentgroup. We exercised a song, almost one hour. After that, Nicola and i decided to make a few scetches as serving couple. Because of this we went back to the hostel to change our dress, but when we returne...

För den jag är

Unbelievable. Anna is already since 10 days gone. Or is it only 10 days? I lost my feeling for time. Everyday is full of experiences and activities. I cannot recall everything what I have done in the past two weeks. Many things are just small things which I appreciate a lot. But the last weekend was a highlight. We went with 12 people in three cars to a place called Vallbo near Åre. We started at half past 6 in the morning on Saturday. Although some of us did not sleep at all during the fromer night we walked almost 8 hours. And it was awesome. We walked through so many different landscapes. Wood, swamp, high gras, Tundra, stone desert, climbed up a mountain, walked crosswards through the wood, on a dead river... Overwhelming. I remembered pictures of New Zealand while we wandered through that panorama. The view was breathtaking. The weather changed quickly a few times. One we had even an ice shower. In the end of the day we stayed for dinner at a pension where we got selfmade soup, b...
