Final day in Leipzig

This trip was worth its time. Now I am a little bit sick so we stayed at home today. But the past days we have been out every day. I've seen the town and in the evenings we have been in several pubs and bars. We even met Martin on Friday for a delicous dinner at his flat! On Saturday Basti and I went to the famous zoo of Leipzig. It was raining, but after a while the sun came threw in the evening. Afterwards we went to Moritzbastei (check its history [in German] ) for they had like Wednesday again "All you can dance" at this evening. At half past three we finally went to bed for being prepared for our Sunday-tour. On Sunday we have been in Dresden. But to be honest, I preffer Leipzig. Dresden is... too much. Of course it has this nice buildings and monuments, but it is too much. You have less space than in Leipzig to watch the buildings from distance. And tourists are everywhere. And the weather is worse. It was raining all the time. After the culture-program (one museum

Leipzig #1

I arrived yesterday by plane in Leipzig and the flight took only 45 minutes. From the airport I travelled to the centre of Leipzig by train. Of course, my train left the station as soon as I made a footstep at the platform. Therefor I had to wait for the next one. If you ever travel the same way, be aware that the train, although it heads every time into the same direction, leaves from different tracks. I almost had to wait a second time... Finally having arrived at Basti's flat we ate and went out again. And I've been at one of the coolest for going out. It's called Moritzbastei and it is student club. My vocabulary says "bastei" means "bastion". I hope you can handle that. Moritzbastei is the Leipzig version of a Kårhuset. It is huge. Really really huge. It does not only cover a huge area with several floors, but its rooms are also several meters high. And according to a sign in the entrance it is from the 16th century. It's fun to imagine that a

Heimaturlaub

The last three weeks in Germany pass really fast. First I've been in Madrid as I wrote before. One of the, if not even the, best experiences this year. In the same week I traveled to Aachen met friends from my study program. It is interesting to see how everybody is doing. Some are at the same stage as I looking for a diploma thesis. Others are already finished. Like Basti (from Aachen, not from Leipzig; why are all good guys named Sebastian??). He celebrated last Saturday his passed diploma. Congratulations! And thank you for a really funny evening. In the meanwhile I found a supervisor for my diploma thesis at my department. Nothing is signed, yet, but I am optimistical. The topic will be about Usability Engineering. I am looking forward. In one hour I will have to hurry to the train for getting to the airport in Köln/Cologne/Colonia (did I forget a language?). 5 days Leipzig will follow. I heard only the best about the city. Pubs, monuments, activities... and friends from EILC :

Madrid

Since more than three weeks I am back home in Germany. It happened not much. Going for a walk with the dogs, going to the cinema here, making a tour with the bike there aso. But this weekend I've been to Madrid to visit Cris and Gema. It was the first time I've been in Spain. I even have never been in France. And never in a big city like this. I guess, Stockholm has been the biggest. And it is so beautiful! I arrived at Friday evening and stayed until Monday afternoon. Therefore, at Saturday and Sunday Gema, Cris and Alex (Gema's flatmate) showed me the city. And I loved that. I don't like to be a tourist, to see places everybody sees and to make pictures everybody makes to say with the same words, how beautiful it was. On the other side, there exist places everybody who has been in Madrid should have seen. Thanks to my friends, I had both. Individual Madrid and classical Madrid. On Saturday Alex, Cris, Gema and I made a sightseeing trip and walked from one famous place
