In the middle of the ride

Work goes quite well these days. Every day my thesis gets more text. I start now every morning at 9. Effectively at 10 or later, because before I do everything else than working: getting tea, checking mails, reading news and stuff like that. On Tuesday my students wrote my exam. Pretty cool thing. Yesterday I corrected it. Strange to see them in my situation from one year ago. These days are more serious than the days before. Not only because of workload. Since my future in Sweden depends on the result of my thesis there is a uncertain timespan after February. Even if they accept me as PhD I cannot imagine that bureaucracy (even in Sweden) can let me start immediately in March. Therefore I should check for some B-plans. I already canceled my room at Nacksta, because in case I stay here it is no problem to take the cancellation back. May thoughts about plans in spring are quite vague. There is still the master thesis that needs to be written. I could bridge the time between diploma thesis (end in February) and PhD decision with writing my thesis in a company. In a company, because I need to get paid. And I do not want to write a thesis alone, again. But how to find a company. And in which studies. Unlikely in decision analysis, because there are not that many companies that deal with it. So in computer science in general. But that's such a broad topic. And so on.
This weekend is tough party weekend. Tonight will be Marcolino's birthday party. Tomorrow will be Thomas birthday-preparty with Halloween-party at Kåren afterwards. I checked the Halloween-pictures of last year. We had snow at that time. Östersund already has. It is cold in Sundsvall, but as usual very dry, therefore no snow. And it is very windy at the moment! Blue sky and icy wind. Perfect.

Wird schon alles werden. In Deutschland wärs auch nicht unkomplizierter oder langfristiger planbar. Ich drück Dir die Daumen, dass alles so fix wie möglich fix ist!

Aller guten Dinge sind drei

On Friday we had a party at Norrmalms. And because the party room looses power at 12pm everybody had to bring candles. Cool idea. In the morning I felt a little bit dizzy. I guess, due to Matt's Whiskey-Coke. At a Whiskey-Cola by Matt Coke is only used for giving the Whiskey a slightly darker color. On Saturday we have been to Kårhuset the first time since weeks, because Marcolino, Thomas and Jens were working there for the first time all together on one evening. And surprisingly the party it was very good. First we conquered a private party at the upper floor. It was meant for some Swedish students, but they were already drunk and not caring about who enters the dinner room. And they had a cool Live-band who played only good rock. They stopped at half past 1 and the last two hours we sticked to the usual dance floor who did not have the usual annoying Swedish chart music. I cannot recall what they were playing, because most songs I did not know, but it was funny. Somehow, this se...

First week

Now it has been almost a week since I came back and I remember why: because of the summer. It is the most beautiful season here. And I tried to take advantage of the weather. I got a new bicycle for I changed my small blue one with Anna's big yellow bike. Funny, it is the same modell as mine in Germany - just bigger. My first ride was to Sidsjön two days ago to have a picknick there. The day after I repaired the brakes and today I bought a new lock and oil for the chain. This evening it rained and tomorrow shall be the ugly weather, too. I want to try to use the next sunny day for a small tour. Probably the road along Sidsjön out of Sundsvall.

3rd erasmus

Yesterday was the inofficial start of the 3rd erasmus semester because Jens arrived as the first of the new students. He even participated at the EILC in Falun! And guess what, he's our new flatmate! The main part of the new students will come this week. That the new students arrive means also that the last from the 1st and 2nd will leave. Today it was Benjamin's turn. The only good thing is that from now on there won't be less students in Nacksta than today. Jens and I brought Benjamin to the trainstation and walked back through the town. In the afternoon we will maybe walk to Sidsjön and at night we will check Sundsvall's pubs. For the 3rd erasmus semester has begun.
