I tell you, my lessons are very different from each other. At "Introduction to Logic" i even do not need to participate, but i wanted for being sure not to miss something in the next courses. After 90 minutes "Logic" we were able to distinguish a AND-connection from a OR-connection. During the lesson i had to think about my beginnings in Aachen were i had to learn this in 5 minutes. But Aachen is different. In Aachen you begin with 200 students and the exams are meant to filter them. Here we are just 8 to 10 students each course and they take care for every problem. At the first lecture of "Decision Theory" the lecturer explained in detail how to calculate 90% from 30, because some did not get it. At home they will advise you to skip your study at your first semester, if you are asking something like that. But on the other hand it's just the beginning and there are not only computer scientist at the Logic-course, so i guess they are teaching that way, because some of the participants are not familiar with boolean algebra. I hope, they are that charitable when i don't get a clue. The other lecture "Decision Theory" is totaly different. We have to read a book and the first 20 pages were already hard to read for me. The author is professor for philosphy and his writing style is not compatible to my mind. I am interested in algorithms and formulas for "Decision Theory" but he is talking... a lot. I needed some time to extract the informations out of the text. I hope i will become used to it.
I wanted to get my access card today, but somehow the cards of some EILC students were send to Härnösand, so we have to wait for it.
Today there was a Barbeque behind Nacksta 16 in the evening. Food was for free, we had only to bring our own beer (Javisst!). As always, Phil has the important pictures. At the party i learned Jonny, a swede. Although he is a swedish citizien it was first to cold for him outside. So he invited us to his appartment at Nacksta teaching us drinking whiskey. This semester abroad is realy an big experience for me. Just a few weeks before i learnd at the EILC to like and drink wine; and now whiskey! And really, being tought how to drink whisky i tasted it and it was fine. We were sitting almost until midnight at Jonny's living room, playing guitar, singing (I !) and drinking whiskey. I hope, we will repeat such an evening with Jonny.
Back at our own appartments i checked my schedule. One other big difference to Germany is that your schedule is different every week. In Aachen you have every monday the same lessons at the same time at the same room. Here you have to check it always. And my lesson for tomorrow is "Logic" at quarter past eight... I don't think so.
