Saturday morning the last EILCs from Sundsvall, Phil, Dennis and I, started our trip to Östersund. At the centralstation of Sundsvall we met the remaining Härnösand fraction Klara, Jana and Katarina. All others already went to Östersund on friday or even thursday. The train takes 2.5 hours to Östersund. At the centralstation in Östersund the czech girls went into the city while Phil, Dennis and I went by bus to the camping zone, where our remaining friends live.
First we visited Malgosia, before the coffee party at Conny's cottage started. We had a lot of cake, tea and coffee and for some of the participants it was the first time I saw them again since the accomodation desaster in the beginning of september. It was very nice to start the revival. After the coffee I slept a while. Because of the movie night on friday in Sundsvall I still had a lack of sleep. Thanks to Nico, I found again a fine accomodation in Östersund. And the evening became an event, too. It was an EILC-party again. And it was the first EILC party I survived longer than 2 am. After hours I left even at half past 4 am. Foto galeries: Phil, Anna (more will follow).
At the morning I heard the voice of Malgosia in front of the Nico's cottage. And I remebered that the czech girls slept in her cottage and I had told them at the party they are not allowed to leave without saying good bye. And here they were, at 12 o'clock in the "morning". I climbed down from my bed and went outside, still in my sleeping dress, and gave each of them a huge hug. Phil would not be a real friend if he wouldn't have documentated this situation, too.
In the afternoon I went bowling with the international committee of Östersund. It was good, but after one hour I became really tired and I just threw the ball away, not really looking for the goal. I just wanted to go to bed. Thanks to Ben he gave me a lift back to the camping zone, where I could sleep until dinner at Malgosia's cottage in the evening. At quarter to 8 I had to say good bye, too, leaving with Anna, Line and Ulrich town.
This weekend was the short revival of the EILC. It was the last time the participants of the EILC meet in the constelation they left Härnösand. A pitty, not everybody was able to come. Elia was not able to pay the huge amount of trip costs (Umeå is really far away). Before we arrived two others left Östersund to make a trip through the north of sweden. At Malgosias blog you can see the melancholical-angry-funny variant to deal with these "traitors".
But now I think, this is how life is. Everybody experiences the same situation different. For me the EILC was the best time I can remember; for others it was just a nice time. I have to respect that if I want my memory to be as near as possible to reality.
It hurts to leave Östersund. In a way it is worse than having left Härnösand two month ago. Some "Good Bye"s were probably final. Our friends from Czech Republic, Klara, Jana and Katarina, will leave Sweden to Brno in a week. Perhaps we won't meet again. But just perhaps. But for sure: Brno is one of the places in the world I have to visit in my life.
