Red Flag

As you can imagine, sunday was not my most active day of the week. I almost got dark when I stood up. After breakfast with Phil and Stephan we went to Kårhuset in the evening and watched "Pirates of the Caribean 2". It is an unnecessary but funny movie, I think. But it ends right in the middle of the story. "To be continued..."
I found to funny pictures of myself.

The differnce between these pictures are 2 month. The left is from Karoline's birthday in september the other from the recent carneval party. My hair is now much longer and I look more crazy. How will I look in two more month?

Ulrich phoned today with our department from FH Aachen. We need to apply for a study brake in Germany for staying in Sweden. Everything is clear, but we need a letter from the department which is about "Yes, he is in Sweden". But nobody knows, how this letter has to look like, because nobody of our department seems to have ever applied for it. And the incredible answer of the department was: "It's unprovided". Unprovided?! Everbody on this damn university can apply for one, every student in Aachen can apply for it, but not students from our department. Just because it is "unusual"! Before I came to Sweden I applied for studying at University at Maastricht in the Netherlands. They have the best program with an extraordinary reputation. It would have been the perfect addition to my former studies. With the permission of my university I organized everything by my own and had a really good contact to Unimaas. I was intended to participate at the bachelors programm, full study (not only the required 10 ECTS from my home university) and got the chance to go on with the dutch master programme in knowledge engineering. And then my department just said "it's unusual to go to a not-partner-university". That was it. Damn bureaucracy. And now the same thing again. I hate it. If they don't allow me to stay here, the only thing left is to write my diploma thesis back there. But how can I be motivated to write a thesis at this department?
I will phone my professor tomorrow for help. Perhaps he can help us. But until now it sucks.

För den jag är

Unbelievable. Anna is already since 10 days gone. Or is it only 10 days? I lost my feeling for time. Everyday is full of experiences and activities. I cannot recall everything what I have done in the past two weeks. Many things are just small things which I appreciate a lot. But the last weekend was a highlight. We went with 12 people in three cars to a place called Vallbo near Åre. We started at half past 6 in the morning on Saturday. Although some of us did not sleep at all during the fromer night we walked almost 8 hours. And it was awesome. We walked through so many different landscapes. Wood, swamp, high gras, Tundra, stone desert, climbed up a mountain, walked crosswards through the wood, on a dead river... Overwhelming. I remembered pictures of New Zealand while we wandered through that panorama. The view was breathtaking. The weather changed quickly a few times. One we had even an ice shower. In the end of the day we stayed for dinner at a pension where we got selfmade soup, b...

First week

Now it has been almost a week since I came back and I remember why: because of the summer. It is the most beautiful season here. And I tried to take advantage of the weather. I got a new bicycle for I changed my small blue one with Anna's big yellow bike. Funny, it is the same modell as mine in Germany - just bigger. My first ride was to Sidsjön two days ago to have a picknick there. The day after I repaired the brakes and today I bought a new lock and oil for the chain. This evening it rained and tomorrow shall be the ugly weather, too. I want to try to use the next sunny day for a small tour. Probably the road along Sidsjön out of Sundsvall.

Aller guten Dinge sind drei

On Friday we had a party at Norrmalms. And because the party room looses power at 12pm everybody had to bring candles. Cool idea. In the morning I felt a little bit dizzy. I guess, due to Matt's Whiskey-Coke. At a Whiskey-Cola by Matt Coke is only used for giving the Whiskey a slightly darker color. On Saturday we have been to Kårhuset the first time since weeks, because Marcolino, Thomas and Jens were working there for the first time all together on one evening. And surprisingly the party it was very good. First we conquered a private party at the upper floor. It was meant for some Swedish students, but they were already drunk and not caring about who enters the dinner room. And they had a cool Live-band who played only good rock. They stopped at half past 1 and the last two hours we sticked to the usual dance floor who did not have the usual annoying Swedish chart music. I cannot recall what they were playing, because most songs I did not know, but it was funny. Somehow, this se...
